Everyone knows that Cast Iron cookware needs to be seasoned but most people do not know that Stainless Steel and Aluminum cookware also needs to be seasoned prior to first use. Here are the steps to follow to season your Cast Iron, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum cookware.
After cleaning and drying, coat the cookware lightly with vegetable oil or a small amount of shortening.
Place on medium heat burner for 10-15 minutes until light smoke appears.
When oil turns a deep brown turn the heat off and allow the pan to cool.
Wipe off excess oil with a paper towel.
