A Prayer for Healing

To preserve our blessed land we must look to God... It is time to realize that we need God more than He needs us... We also have His promise that we could take to heart with regard to our country, that "If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Let us, young and old, join together, as did the First Continental Congress, in the first step, in humble heartfelt prayer. Let us do so for the love of God and His great goodness, in search of His guidance and the grace of repentance, in seeking His blessings, His peace, and the resting of His kind and holy hands on ourselves, our nation, our friends in the defense of freedom, and all mankind, now and always.

The time has come to turn to God and reassert our trust in Him for the healing of America... Our country is in need of and ready for a spiritual renewal. Today, we utter no prayer more fervently than the ancient prayer for peace on Earth.

If I had a prayer for you today, among those that have all been uttered, it is that one we're so familiar with: "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace...." FAITH:

Jesus said several times, according to your faith be it unto you. You must have full faith that your prayers will be answered.  Jesus is very clear on this.

--- Matthew 8:13 - And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee.

--- Matthew 9:22 - But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

--- Matthew 15:28 - Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed instantly.

--- Mark 10:52 - And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.”

--- Mark 11:22-24 - And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

--- James 1:5-8 - If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.


Wait on the Lord:

---  Psalms 27:14 - Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

---  Isaiah 40:31 - But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.

---  Psalms 37:7-9 - Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

---  Psalms 37:34 - Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see [it].


The Lord's Prayer Matthew 6:9-13

(The Lord's Prayer teaches  us  how to pray.  Jesus spoke these words for his disciples when they asked Him "how" they should pray.   We  should use it as a guide in our r prayers.)

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 

(This tells us that we must enter His gates with thanksgiving and praise.  Every prayer should start with thanksgiving and praise.)

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 

(Pray for the advancement of the kingdom of God.  Prayers for the salvation of souls, prayers for Christians going through challenges, payers for the gospel of Jesus Christ to be known to all, prayer for the protection and preservation of Christians all over the world.  God's will is to be paramount on this earth just as it is in heaven.)

Give us this day our daily bread. 

(This is where you ask for your personal needs but also is  a reminder that Jesus is the Living Bread and that his Word - the Holy Bible) is to be read daily). 

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 

(We are all sinners but God showed us his unconditional love and forgave all our sins through the blood of his son, Jesus Christ.  That is why we also must forgive others as He forgave us.  )

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. 

(Pray for divine protection so that we do not fall prey to temptations.  Prayer is the key to spiritual and physical protection. We must ask the Holy Spirit to guide us so that we do not fall into the traps and temptations of the devil.)

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.

(When you end your prayer, you should close with "In Jesus' name I pray.  Amen."  Jesus tells us that we are to ask in His name.)

John 16:23-24 - Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.


Prayer of Jabez

1 Chronicles 4:10, we read: "And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that Thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that Thine hand might be with me, and that Thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested." 

(The prayer is composed of four parts. First, Jabez asks God to bless him. Second, he asks God to enlarge his territory (to increase his responsibility). Third, he prays that God will be with him and stay close. Lastly, Jabez asks that God keep him from harm so that he will be free from pain.)
